Seeking a Legal Counsel for a leading Investment & Financial Services company

The candidate is responsible to:

  • Provide information, counsel, and guidance on transactional legal issues to various departments across the organization;
  • Help in developing and implementing transactional legal standards to ensure a comprehensive approach to transactions;
  • Assist in managing overall legal risk by ensuring contracts reflect best practices and by developing a robust framework of processes and documentation to measure risk;
  • Support the investment team in evaluating potential deals, developing strategy, examining business and legal issues, and exploring potential local and International partnerships;
  • Help put systems and controls in place to avoid potential compliance breaches;
  • Keep contact with local and international external lawyers to discuss legal issues and affairs
  • Responsible for local/regional/ international legal affairs and matters relating to the company’s local/regional affairs, including those related to any and all subsidiary companies, sister and affiliated companies;
  • Draft, review and arrange for the execution of various contracts, agreements, and other documentation, ensuring that the company’s interests are properly protected in accordance with its standard policies and principles.

The candidate must have:

  • Bachelors in Law
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience preferably at a law firm or in a legal department of a relevant Financial Services company
  • Experience in the Middle East/ Gulf region
  • Experience in regional and international investments (financial & real estate), private equity, mergers & acquisitions preferred
  • Understanding of corporate /corporate structuring and/or finance law
