About the service line:
Our accountants, with a thorough knowledge of applicable accounting standards and local regulatory requirements, provide flexible, cost-effective and specialised services – across administration, finance functions and non-audit advisory – to respond to client needs, enabling businesses to devote key resources to core business matters. Typical services that AS provides include book-keeping and accounting; seconding accountants; outsourcing of payroll services; drafting accounting policies and procedures; administering employee incentive schemes; verifying fixed assets (including inventory counts); validating ECL models, developing finance skills; reviewing internal financial controls; and setting up accounting system and controls.
Responsibilities:
- Client engagement: Engage with clients to understand their needs and tailor proposals; act as a point of contact for day-to-day client interactions; build strong relationships; support client satisfaction
- Project support/delivery: Enhance/maintain sound understanding of role’s technical aspect; prepare/support timely completion of various client deliverables; lead specific workstreams as directed
- Presentation/reporting: Prepare/deliver high-quality deliverable and proposals for clients and other stakeholders
- Technical knowledge: Keep current on relevant leading practice; enhance specialist knowledge on assigned subject matter areas; develop market knowledge; stay current on advancements and solutions related to service line/solution area
- Data analysis/insight: Analyse and benchmark data to support insight supporting strategic recommendations and other client deliverables
- Solution design: Contribute to the development of relevant frameworks, policies and tools tailored to client needs
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting/finance/commerce from a reputable university or educational institution
- Professional qualification (such as CA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA or CMA) required
Skills:
- Able to read/understand financial statements and related financial reports in accordance with IFRS standards
- Proficient computer skills – experience with accounting systems such as Sage50, Tally, MS Dynamics or SAP preferred
- Relevant regulatory expertise, such as IFRS and/or AAOFI standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic
- Team player able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Experience:
- Three-to-five years of relevant financial management experience in the consulting sector and/or a similar role
- Experience of executing projects in a fast-paced, high-intensity, team-oriented environment
